2011 New Faces of Engineering Award Winners to be Announced

Posted by in Engineering

The nominations are in. ASCE member engineers who are 30 or under and showed the potential for a long and distinguished career in engineering will soon know whether they've won the National Engineers Week Foundation 2011 New Faces of Engineering award (past winners are shown at left).

Young engineers of all disciplines were nominated. The program promotes the accomplishments of young engineers by highlighting their engineering contributions and acknowledging the direct and positive effect they have on people’s everyday lives.

The national program also introduces college engineering students to accomplished engineers to encourage them to explore the many career options their engineering degrees offer. It even encourages high school students to pursue engineering in college. And it provides role models for engineering students to help them appreciate the global impact of engineering.

ASCE has forwarded five top nominees to the National Engineers Week Foundation, which will select one nominee from each engineering field and announce their names in February 2011. Winners will be recognized in a full-page ad in USA Today during Engineers Week, Feb. 14-20, 2011, and may be profiled in a number of engineering trade publications.
